Loading Youtube Videos to your iPod

A lot of people I know would like to load some videos from youtube to their iPod. It’s actually a 2 step approach.

First step is you need to somehow download the youtube video. There’s a lot of tools you can use but one tool I’ve used is the FLV downloader. You need to first be able to get those videos and store it in your PC. Once you’ve got the videos downloaded, the next step of course is to figure out how to put those videos into your iPod.

Second step. You would need to convert all your videos from FLV to ipod video format. Fortunately there’s another tool for that. Here’s a step by step guide on just exactly how to do the FLV to ipod conversion.

There you have it. A simple 2 step approach to getting youtube videos to your ipod.

Phone Manufacturing

Some of you guys are wondering, how cellphones are made. What does it look like inside a cell phone factory? Does it look like an assembly line of many people adding in so many parts?

Typically, you’ll find people in a cell phone manufacturing plant, dressed up in a lab coat similar to this.

The guy in the above phone is working on a HD but similarly, those that manufacture semiconductors and products that require a specially controlled environments such as mobile phones, they do dress like these.

A big part of the assembly process is done by robots and pick and place machines like this

Then towards the end you’ll probably see an assembly type area with a lot of people dressed in the usual scrubs like the ones in http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/. They do stuff that needs the dexterity of a human hand and can’t be replaced by robots.

Cell phones are an integral part the modern society. Even low level income have cell phones nowadays. Although not the latest models, but still, the technology has been embraced and is now a necessity.

DVD Ripper For My Personal Videos

Our family keeps a couple of our personal DVDs in storage. We had our old videos from trips and events such as birthdays transferred from the old VHS format to DVD. Now of course we would like to back it up and put it in our hard drives.

A friend of mine said he uses a DVD Ripper he bought from the internet. He says he use it so he can carry his videos to iPod,PSP. I checked it out and it can also be used for iPhone, PS3, Archos, iRiver, Creative Zen, Zune, Xbox, 3GP phone, Apple iPad, Google Android-based phones. He actually has a Mac so he uses the DVD Ripper Mac

One of the things that caught my eye is its ability to handle HD DVDs. I guess when I use this, I’ll be able to put in formats like HD AVI, HD MPEG-2/4, HD H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, HD WMV, HD Quick Time, HD VOB, HD ASF videos, and other HD video formats.

So I guess I’ll be doing a lot of DVD to AVI conversions in the next coming weekends.

Anybody bought this? Was it good?

75 Percent of People Buy the Wrong Digital Camera

Did you know that over 75% of the students turn up with the camera the salesman suggested.

Guess what? They soon find out that it’s the wrong one for them. This can be a very expensive mistake. So the big questions are what is the right one for me and how do I know which is best for me.

One of the first things that you want to know about the camera that the salesman is trying to sell you is as follows

1) How long does the camera take to turn on and be ready to take the shot? In the consumer market this can range between 1 to 5 seconds most being towards the 3 seconds mark.

2) How long does the camera take to focus on the subject? (Not to take the picture) most cameras take between 1 to 3 seconds most at around the 1-second mark.

3) How long does the camera take to actually take the photo after you have pushed the shutter button completely? Again, most cameras take between 1to 3 seconds this is called shutter lag time.

Now you can see to take a photo can take up to 5 seconds just to turn on and up to another 3 seconds to focus in and the up to another 3 seconds just to actually take the photo.

In a cheaper camera, but not necessarily cheaper it can be up to 9 seconds to take a photo from the camera turned off. You may say “yes but I will leave my camera on” ok that’s fine, but you may still have a lag time of up to 3 seconds just to take a photo. Just imagine how annoying it will be now that you have purchased your new digital camera costing you around $400 – $500 to find that you just can’t catch your child blowing out the candles because your new camera at the critical time of blowing the candles out took 1 second to focus and a further 2 seconds to take the photo. What was the result? A child sitting in front of a cake with black smoldering candles.

Can you set the white balance on your camera? Just what is the white balance?

About 60% of digital cameras don’t have this adjustment, you must buy one that can be set manually, not just one that has an “auto white balance” as they are not as good as they advertise.

Does your camera have different exposure modes?

Exposure modes are simply where does the camera take a light reading? The cheaper cameras just do an all over reading which can be very limiting to say the least. A good camera will have a “spot”, “centre weighted” and “matrix” metering system, which allows you to take great photos in any light situation.

When buying a digital camera, buy it for the fact that it’s a camera not a video camera as well. One student showed me all the features her camera had and that’s why it was more expensive – the only thing that it didn’t do well was take still pictures!

You can get so much out of your new digital camera! you just have to put some time in for learning how to use it properly and how to take better pictures – remember no one will ever want to look at a poor quality photo twice!

If you want to take really great pictures that will be in your family for years put in a little effort with your new digital camera.

New Pentax Cams

Pentax Imaging has unveiled two of its newest digital SLR cameras. It looks like it would be successful ones judging by the way it looks and how much clarity it could provide shooters everywhere.

Pentax Imaging has introduced its new K20D and K200D digital SLR cameras. These two cameras are coming to you with 14.6 and 10.2 megapixels respectively. features a “Live View” that lets you use the 2.7-inch LCD display to see what’s visible through the viewfinder. There is an improved dust reduction system has been incorporated, and the body is more weather and dust-resistant than past models. It also features a newly developed CMOS image sensor and custom image functions.

The K200D has a 2.7-inch wide LCD, auto picture and scene modes, Expanded Dynamic Range function, improved dust reduction and a Pentax-made shake reduction system.

Celeron Dual-Core E1200 To Ship

For the first time, Intel is is shipping a low-end desktop processor with two cores. That is a dual-core Celeron, ladies and gentlemen, and that could be one of the biggest news of the year for everyone who uses an Intel microprocessor.

The 1.6GHz Celeron Dual-Core E1200 processor is based on Intel’s Core microprocessor architecture and is manufactured using a 65-nanometer process. The chip has 512K bytes of cache and uses an 800MHz front-side bus to connect with main memory and other components inside the PC. It is quite a mouthful and it could also be just the beginning for the company.

It should be noted that the Celeron is the low-end product in the stable of processors in Intel. With this development, each of the products has multi-core versions.

The iPod Touch Look-alike

Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery but it could take some of the attention away from the original. In the world of technology, Apple has seen its share of competing products having a striking resemblance to its products. Now, it gets another dose of such medicine with the latest product in the South Korean market.

PlayTomato’s Video Touch music and video player has a name that is already a clue to what particular product it has similarities with. Why, it is a smaller version of the iPod Touch! The design is definitely a clear copy of the iPod Touch. As for size, well it is quite small. The Video Touch has a 2.5-inch touchscreen QVGA (240 x 320 pixels) resolution screen with 260,000 colors. Two versions of the player are available, one with 2GB of memory and the other with 4GB.

Thus, the Video Touch is targeted for the low-end market. It is way smaller and definitely cheaper. Not bad for a product that could pass for a little sibling of a popular product.

MacBook Receives Greenpeace Support

After the unveiling of the newest darling of Apple, the MacBook Air, it seems that it got

people talking. Now, almost everyone who has heard of just what the laptop looks like wants a piece of it. At least one group is supporting it already, a group that has previously been notorious for branding other gadgets as evil.

Greenpeace, that highly-controversial environmentally conscious group, calls the new MacBook Air a “winner”. Well, it turns out the group has taken notive of Apple’s strategy of making it an environmental-friendly notebook. That is basically music to the ears of everyone involved in Greenpeace. Turns out, Greenpeace went on to observe Apple’s commitment made last year to phase out toxic chemicals Brominated Fire Retardants (BFRs) and Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) by the end of 2008.

Maybe, Greenpeace has finally succeeded in making manufacturers much more aware of making green products. Looks like the message is finally being pushed through.

When the MacWorld 2008 officially began, all people wanted to know was what Steve Jobs would be unveiling this time. Chief among these rumors that circulated was the impending arrival of the newest MacBook. It turned out to be the MacBook Air. This is what we know so far…

It is a lithe 3 pounds and could fit in an envelope. That makes it probably the world’s thinnest laptop yet. Just check the dimensions: 0.76 inches x 12.8 inches x 8.95 inches. Also, the MacBook Air features a 13.3-inch LED-backlit widescreen display that has a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. The MacBook Air features a 1.8-inch hard disk drive with 80GB of storage capacity standard.

It is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo chip running at 1.6GHz, with 1.8GHz available as an option. also features a built-in iSight webcam and a full sized MacBook-style black keyboard. The keyboard is backlit, now looming as a standard in the MacBook world.

The Air Is Here

Steve Jobs has done a great presentation once again. Newscasts were filled with just how much anticipation was in the air with the arrival of the new MacBook. he even unveiled the new notebook in the best way possible: accentuating the size of the gizmo to those who were waiting for it.

The gasps of everybody and the round of applause that followed were enough for Jobs to flash a devilish grin. He had everybody’s attention once more. At the MacWorld 2008, people were gushing at just what ensued right before their very eyes. Yes, after last-minute rumors on what would go down at the event, there were numerous gossips on teh MacBook Air.

The answers were provided by Jobs afterwards. Really though, all he had to do was show the MacBook Air and he did it in an innovative way: with the help of an envelope. Nex, we will discuss what he did say about the new Apple product that would be the talk of the town.
