Is the Mac no longer relevant? Has it become yesterday’s news? After experiencing a resurgence a few years ago, a lot of people have already questioned its viability to consumers, not to mention its popularity. After all, Apple Corp. seems to be thriving nowadays more for its handheld products. The Mac? Some might have had already dismissed it as past its prime.
Hold off the goodbyes first. In fact, it seems the Apple Mac is still going through its good years. That is, if we were to trust the latest figures. Market research firm IDC published a report last week which showed Apple’s hardware shipments for the third quarter increased over the same time frame last year. It was enough to catapult Apple to third place in the United States just behind Dell and Hewlett-Packard. Also, it placed ahead of Toshiba and Gateway, two other strong computer hardware companies.
So, to the naysayers, Apple Mac is still alive and quite kicking.
