It seems Gateway is hellbent on reclaiming some of its lost glory and it plans to make the necessary changes as soon as possible. After the company merged with another well-regarded company, Acer, it now sets its sights on something they have not embraced before: laptops.

The new Gateway will launch a complete line of notebooks to probably signal that they are planning to rejuvenate their sagging popularity as well as to address their recent merger with Acer as something that brings forth positive changes. New Gateway laptop PCs could be out as early as the first quarter of next year. Already, it has caught the attention of many and the news has made the rounds of different tech-conscious websites and pages.

Acer announced a plan to buy Gateway for $710 million in cash in August, and completed the deal just last month.
