A lot of gamers were excited with the thought that the highly anticipated Halo 3 would be free for testing online in XBox’s website. Of course, this is the third installment of arguably the most popular game nowadays so a lot of people were really into it.
All for naught.
Basically, what happened was, of all things, a glitch prevented them from trying the game for themselves online. What was supposed to be the start of a gargantuan promotion for Microsoft’s biggest hope for pushing their console to the next level were dashed because of technical difficulties. Not exactly what they had hoped for, huh?
Will this affect the sales of this product? Absolutely not. Gamers would simply rant about it for the next few days but would still be obsessed with the prospect of owning the game sometime in September. However, the complaints have really escalated and clearly, Microsoft bungled here. Check out the various websites and forums regarding Xbox or Halo. Hell, go to YouTube and you’ll find out out that hell hath no fury like a geek scorned.
Tsk tsk.
