The success of Eee PC from Asustek Computer could trigger the start of a new battle in the tech world. After all, the low cost laptop PC that the Eee has made relevant these days could prove to be too enticing to resist for their competitors. That is according to market analyst Gartner that has made the rounds of many tech news sites recently.
Eee PCs are said to be expected to sell as many as 400,000 units by the end of this year and maybe more by next year. That figure is said to go as high as 3.8 million units by that period. By then, other manufacturers could be developing their answer to the Eee. With the popularity of the product, it cannot be argued that it is definitely one of the more succesful stories of this year in the tech biz.
The Eee PC weighs less than a kilogram, has a 7-inch LCD screen and can connect to the Internet wirelessly. The size and the cost of the Eee have been regarded as the chief reasons why it has gone over to the buying public so well.
