Ever wanted to play your iPod when you are outdoors? Well, it is quite a given that it is a bit of a compromise since speakers are not exactly known for being durable in that kind of setting. After all, a water resistant iPod speaker is quite a far-fetched idea right? Plus, the dust particles could signal an earth-shattering turn of events fot the speakers, so it is probably a no-go for the great outdoors for your beloved iPod.
Wait, hold on to that adventure. Apparently, Hercules has announced that it has a new innovation for iPod speakers. With their latest incarnation, the i-XPS 120, they now have a solution for that dilemma of having an outdoor iPod speaker. In fact, it has already received a much-needed sign of support, from the industry nonetheless. The speaker has received IP 53 certification for its resistance to water sprays and dust, according to Hercules. It features a watertight chamber that houses the iPod. The speakers are said to be magnetically shielded with protective grilles, a dust evacuation system and a shock-resistant rubber frame.
