Kodak is arguably one of the most, if not the leading, recognizable name brands in the field of photo imagery. With that regard, it also comes at a heavy price: great expectations. In the often quoted cliche, it has been said that with great power comes great responsibility. So, with the new digital camera that Kodak has released, it should not come as a surprise that we want more.

The Kodak EasyShare C653, unfortunately, fails to live up to these expectations. Actually, it does not live up to low ones either. While the price is low by today’s standards, thus making it affordable, it comes short in many departments. First off, the design leaves too much to be desired. It is thick, chunky and really ugly to put it mildly. Did we even mention it weighs in at a bulky 6.9 ounces. Moreover, the image quality, while not really atrocious, is still disappointing, short of mentioning it is not exactly Kodak-quality.

In short, cross this out of your list.
