Not only are things getting smaller in the tech world, they are also getting greener. It goes to show how much the CEOs of these mega companies are aware that any negative publicity with their company involving the environment could be critical to their business. Being environment-friendly does have its advantages.

Take for example arguably the world’s chief chip processor manufacturer. Intel Corp. has gone to not only lean but also green to ensure its brand-new 45-nanometer chip manufacturing plant is as environmentally friendly as it should be. The $3 billion facility located somewhere in Arizona has begun manufacturing Intel’s new Penryn 45nm processors just a few weeks ago.

In addition, the company stated that the effort marks its first steps to get the plant certified under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System. Moreover, the company has tried to use environmentally friendly materials and practices when constructing other buildings but they put special emphasis on it with this building which they have called Fab 32.
