Yesterday, we tackled the Lenovo ThinkPad T61. Today, we present a somewhat mirror image of that laptop. The ThinkPad R61 also features a widescreen display that is seemingly prevalent on most notebook computers nowadays.
A highly popular brand amongst business travellers, the new ThinkPad aims to attract even home-based users into trying this model. Here are a few specifications for you to consider:
1) Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T7300/ 2 GHz
2) RAM: 1 GB/3 GB (maximum)
3) 14.1 TFT active matrix display
4) 1280 x 800 (WXGA) max resolution
5) Estimated Battery Life: 5.7 hours
Similar to the T61, the R61 also features the Windows Vista OS and also boasts having the new Intel Centrino platform. It also has a number of exciting features such as ThinkVantage Active Protection System and ThinkPad Roll Cage. The latter is truly a special piece since it helps protect the LCD.
Most reviews have also indicated an affection for its small AC adaptors. With a measurement of 4 inches by 1.5 inches by 1 inch, it is truly a noteworthy adapter. Again, the R61 can also be proud of its keyboard, a trademark of the ThinkPad.
The only gripe mostly heard is it still has not realized the potential of the Centrino platform. Other than that, this laptop sure seems like a reasonable buy.
