It has been a common fodder in films, whether futuristic or set in the present time, to have strict security systems. Notice the number of voice detection? Of course, do not count out the other parts of teh anatomy for detection, such as eyes, fingerprints, breath and even the face. The face, however, just got a shout-out from Panasonic.

Panasonic’s newest digital SLR, the Lumix DMC-10, will be out by October of this year and just made waves with a feature that is sure to pique people’s interest way up there. It has face detection folks. The DMC-L10 features face detection auto focus capabilities, which also sets auto exposure and can detect up to fifteen human faces simultaneously. It sets ISO automatically by measuring the movement of the subject. How about that feature, huh? For a camera to recognize your mug? That is just insane, if you ask me. Of course it has oodles of other features but this one sure got us thinking.

Speaking of other features of the DMC-L10, it also boasts of 2.5-inch “Live View” LCD display that can rotate 270 degrees. Add to that a 10.1-megapixel sensor equipped with a Supersonic Wave Filter system to remove particles and dust from the camera’s sensor.
