If there is such a thing as a budget-friendly home theater, Panasonic just might have it in their warehouses. The SC PT650 is one of the less expensive home theater systems in the market nowadays. Do not, however, make the mistake of assuming that it comes with few features. That would be an error in judgement.

See, the PT650 has more than its share of quality features to its name. Its receivers’ digital amplifiers also has Dolby and DTS modes. The HDMI output comes with video upscaling in 720p, 1080i and 1080p. It even includes an iPod dock. Also, do watch out for its small but equally powerful subwoofer. You would definitely be surprised by it.

It does have its shortcomings too, no doubt about it. While there is really no big deal of judging the system for looking too generic, it is still quite troubling. Some spotty DVD upscaling quality is also an irritating factor.

The PT650 is still a good buy mainly because it is a value for your money system.
