Blizzard Entertainment might just have mastered the art of the tease. Perhaps their revelation could not have come at a better time. One could go on to surmise that this project is a few years too late.

Whatever happens in the next few months or years, depending on how much time it takes, the gaming giants have somehow piqued up the curiosity and interest of many with a simple announcement: there would be a StarCraft II coming to PC and Mac soon. Yes, it would be a simultaneous release. Yes, they also did hear your gripes regarding their much-derided WarCraft III.

What would be different other than the Roman numeral two? Well, they would apparently stick to the original formula. Expect another strategy game with the required competitive fire within. Rather than divert to a new plan, that was one way of regaining their old fans and reach out to the new generation of gamers by offering a fresh storyline to your favorite races.

Now, all we need is a release date.
