Sony Greening Up For The Future

Sony must have seen so many Al Gore talks, heard a lot of Greenpeace news and they are taking action for the future of the planet that we live in. Sounds strange, but the electronics company has heeded the calls of many environmental groups. Now, they would need everyone to cooperate.

They are now launching the Sony Take Back Recycling program. What is it exactly? U.S. consumers will be able to get Sony-brand electronics products recycled for no cost at all from September under the new recycling program announced by the company on Friday. It will be offered at approximately 75 locations in the United States. It would start at the 15th of September. Afterwards, the Sony company intends to expand to 150 drop-off locations within the year.

Sony ranked in last place in the most recent Greenpeace report, published in March this year, in part for its take back standards. The organization also noted that Sony scores well for some models that are free of the chemicals on the tech market.
