Toshiba is Green-Minded

There is such a thing as an environmental friendly laptop after all. In a somewhat strange turn of events, that thing is the company called Toshiba. Yes, the same company with battery issues lately. After a whirlwind of events surrounding its batteries, there is something good that is associated with their brand.

According to EPEAT, a U.S. PC environmental rating organization, Toshiba of America has five of its notebooks that are rated highly by the organization. It even had the gold rating, meaning the greenest laptop of all, if that makes sense. It should be noted that the US government has mandated that federal PC purchases must be of EPEAT-rated PCs, stretching from desktops, notebooks and monitors. The agency has a searchable database of products rated gold, silver or bronze in terms of their environmental friendliness.

It should be noted that a gold rating means a product passed 23 mandatory criteria in eight categories, as well as 75 percent or more of the 28 optional EPEAT criteria.
