It seems patent infringement is a cause being fought for lately. The United States International Trade Commission has set its sights on a few tech companies for such violation. They will have an investigation regarding some companies for alleged patent infringement in connection with hard disk drives.
Five companies are said to be held liable for it if the investigation concludes that such violations were made. Apparently, both manufacturers of the drives and companies that used the drives in questions in their products are going to be scrutinized. The companies are Seagate Technology Inc., Western Digital Corp., Hewlett-Packard Co., Toshiba American Information Systems Inc., and Dell Inc.
The aforementioned violations of the drives are said to be in connection with the electrical wire connections found inside those products. The ITC has a 45-day timeframe in which to set a target date for completing the investigation. The complaint also stated that the ITC issue a permanent exclusion order and a permanent cease-and-desist order against the companies as a request.
