Universal Goggles, Anyone?

Apparently, goggles are tech items as well. No, they are not for your swimming parties or scuba diving expeditions with friends and family. This one is for your beloved iPod. Yes, from the same company that launched that hard-to-ignore goggles before, they are at it again. They are launching a new edition of video goggles that would go along with your fifth-generation iPod.

The Myvu “Universal’ goggles for the iPod as well as other different video devices will use solid optics technology originally developed for the military and medical markets. The goggles will display a 320 x 240 pixel image. The effect will be that of looking at a large TV from a distance of about six feet. The company also said it would release a new adapter that will enable the goggles to work with newer video-capable iPods including the iPod Touch, iPod Classic and iPod Nano.

The device features a slim design that enables you to see above and below the glasses. It features built in earbuds, and a “pendant” remote control lets you adjust brightness and contrast. The pendant also contains a four-hour rechargable battery.

So, any takers?
